John Player & Sons introduced Player's Navy Cut in 1883 in Nottingham, England. The brand became part of Imperial Tobacco in 1901. Player's No. 6 was launched in 1966 and became one of the UK's most popular brands in the 1970s. Player's has been sold in the UK, Canada, Ireland and other Commonwealth markets.
