Marlboro was launched in 1924 by Philip Morris and repositioned in 1954 with the red chevron filter tip. The brand grew rapidly after sponsorship of Formula One Ferrari from 1973 to 2006. Marlboro Lights were introduced in 1971, followed by Marlboro Gold, Silver Blue, and Ice Blast.
